The doctor-recommended first-line of treatment for people with excessive sweating is the use of extra-effective antiperspirants, containing the active ingredient Aluminum Chloride. This ingredient is clinically proven to reduce perspiration and control odour. It works by forming a temporary gel plug within the sweat ducts. This prevents sweat from reaching the skin’s surface, helping to keep underarms dry and removing the bacteria’s food source that causes odour. Prescription-strength deodorant or antiperspirants for heavy sweating?

As deodorants only mask odour there is no prescription deodorant for heavy sweating. But there are prescription-strength antiperspirants developed for people who experience extreme sweating also known as clinical-strength antiperspirants. The primary purpose of prescription-strength antiperspirants is to significantly reduce the amount of sweat reaching the skin’s surface.
